Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join the Department of Manufacturing and Construction Management as a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Manufacturing and Technology Management, beginning August 2025. Candidates must be able to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Manufacturing. Supply Chain, and Technology Management, including but not limited to the following subjects:
- Production and Operations Systems
- Supply Chain Management
- Quality Systems
- Logistics Systems
Additional responsibilities include advising students, serving on departmental and campus-wide committees, holding office hours, collaborating with colleagues, and participating in traditional academic functions.
About the Department
Manufacturing & Construction Management (https://www.ccsu.edu/mcm/) is one of 11 departments which compromise the university’s School of Engineering, Science, and Technology. MCM is primarily housed in the Applied Innovation Hub, newly opened in 2022, which features technology enhanced active learning classrooms, computer-based classrooms, senior capstone project labs, and teaching & research laboratories equipped with state-of-art equipment and instrumentation. The Department offers various programs designed to prepare students for a variety of technical and leadership positions in any public or private sector business and industry. Our degree programs six of which are professionally accredited by ACCE, ABET, or ATMAE -- respond to an increasing demand for highly qualified personnel who have a combination of skills in management and technology for production-oriented industries that includes but is not limited to manufacturing, construction, supply chain, and technical service. The main areas of focus within these degrees include:

- Environment, Health and Safety
- Quality Management
- Manufacturing Management
- Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Technology
- Supply Chain and Logistics Management
- Technology Management
As of Fall 2024, the Department has nearly 600 students enrolled in these programs. Most of our students are working full time or at internships, and those who are not are motivated by career-oriented programs that have achieved nearly 100% job placement. The department has a formal mentorship program wherein senior faculty are assigned to new faculty to mentor them in our courses, advising procedures, research expectations, promotion and tenure guidelines, and orientation to general university and community life.

Required Qualifications:
Ph. D. any field of Management, Engineering, or Industrial/Engineering Technology. Candidates with an M.S. in one of these fields in addition to 10+ years of combined industry and academic experience in one of the above subjects will be considered.
Evidence of expertise in forms of consulting, training, or research in any of the above subjects.
Evidence of college teaching effectiveness in any of the above subjects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of experience or collaboration with industry Able to teach graduate-level courses
Experience with experiential learning methods, such as student design and capstone projects
Commitment to serving culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse communities Excellent oral and written communication skills

Compensation and Employee Benefits
In accordance with the Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (AAUP) Collective Bargaining Union Contract, compensation for this position is at the rank of Assistant Professor for 2024-2025.
