- Deputy Human Resources/Office Administrator
Description
The Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (“SCI”) is seeking an experienced, self-motivated candidate to serve as Deputy Administrator. The position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources & Administration and supports the day-to-day execution of human resources and administrative operations for the agency. The successful candidate will assist with onboarding and separation processes, benefits administration, leave tracking, workers compensation, and maintaining accurate personnel records while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws, policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will also act as liaison with building management and DOE offices including DOE HR and Payroll, and other external partners on personnel-related matters. Responsibilities also include assisting with timekeeping and payroll coordination, responding to staff inquiries related to HR policies and procedures, supporting performance management and employee engagement efforts. The candidate will work closely with the Director to support records management initiatives, including document retention, storage, reorganization plans, and compliance. In addition, the role contributes to general office and administrative functions, including facilities coordination, and participates in special projects and process improvements aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.

HYBRID OFFICE / REMOTE WORK SCHEDULE AVAILABLE AFTER INITIAL TRAINING PERIOD.
